Dr Reina and Jen were professional and had a great bedside manner. Reina was incredibly thorough and took the time to address all my concerns. She was also the first dentist for my 3 year old daughter, and Reina was fabulous with her. She was kind and gentle with her, and made her first trip to the dentist a fun experience. I’d recommend her to anyone looking for a new dentist!

Why should you see a dentist?

It’s essential to see a dentist regularly, even if you have good oral hygiene habits. That’s because your mouth is home to millions of bacteria, some of which can cause tooth decay and gum disease. Professional cleaning by a dentist can remove plaque and tartar that you may not be able to reach with brushing and flossing. In addition, your dentist can check for early signs of tooth decay and gum disease. If caught early, these problems are easier to treat. Your dentist can also spot other issues, such as oral cancer, that you might not be aware of. So, be sure to schedule regular dental appointments. Your teeth will thank you!

What to expect during a dental visit

A trip to the dentist can be a daunting experience, but it doesn’t have to be. So here’s what you can expect during a typical dental visit at Wattle Park Dental.

After checking in at the front desk, you’ll be escorted to the examination room by the dentist or dental hygienist. You’ll be asked to sit in the dental chair and given a cloth to cover your lap. The dentist will then begin the examination by taking a close look at your teeth and gums. Then, they may use a small mirror or probe to get a better view.

Next, the dentist will probably ask you to remove any dental appliances, such as dentures or braces. They may also take X-rays of your mouth. Once the examination is complete, the dentist will discuss their findings with you and discuss any necessary treatment options.

If you’re due for a cleaning, the dentist or dental hygienist will begin by using a small mirror to examine your teeth. They will then use special instruments to remove any plaque or tartar from your teeth. Once your teeth are clean, they will floss between each one and polish them with gritty toothpaste. Finally, they will apply fluoride to help prevent cavities.

After your cleaning is finished, the dentist will give you some final instructions on how to care for your teeth and schedule your next appointment.
